COVID-19
Due to our recent global crisis - COVID-19, many countries around the world have had to come to a standstill. Self-isolation and border closures have been introduced to many parts of Europe within the last month and large areas of Asia, including China have been on lockdown for the majority of the year so far. Extreme and drastic measures have been put in places to help reduce the mortality rate and help control the numbers of infection. While the economy plummets drastically, many people around the world are fighting for their lives, jobs and livelihood with great uncertainty of what lies ahead.
However, even the darkest of clouds have a silver lining. Throughout the weeks of isolation for the human population overseas, there has been drastic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and pollution in many different climates. Parts of China have seen blue skies for the first time in years, allowing air quality to be significantly higher and safer. The canals of Venice have run clear for the majority of March with clear visibility of the sea life.
So maybe this is Mother nature’s way of letting us know who the real problem is?
