Style is The New Green

As we look into fashion and all the continuous upcoming trends, is there ever going to be a way that the industry can even be sustainable? By creating new looks every season it's somewhat difficult to even tell them apart and the only thing that is sustaining is our views on garments being disposable.
In 2020, we have created a movement of sustainability but what is the greenest and most efficient way to follow it?  It is now 'in fashion' to be different, but, how can we be different if we are all buying from the same high street stores filled with mass produced products?
Vintage.  By buying one off garments from the past, we are cutting down production of new synthetic materials as well as reducing landfill waste from old ones. In addition to buying older preloved garments, we should be inspired by older ways of fashion. If we look at our parents and our grandparents generations, wardrobes were made up from necessity with limited garments which would be worn and styled alternatively. By circulating this back into our modern realities we could have wardrobes made up of fewer garments but endless options on how to wear them. The key is to have style. As long as we pick individual garments that make us happy and feel comfortable in, the way we experiment with looks will somehow always feel on trend. Why should we only feel excited about outfits the first time we are seen in them? The reality is no one even cares. You are not recycling aged looks, you are embracing personal style, and what could be anymore exciting and eco-friendly than that??
