Staying busy in lockdown
A good way to keep busy during lockdown is to be resourceful and stay creative. By using things that are lying round the house and garden, I have created my own series of basic floral prints, for spring, I know, groundbreaking. Using the plants I have in the garden and some old chopsticks I have doctored up a few mark making tools and got straight down to business.
The paints were just some I had found lying around my house fortunately, however you can use vegetable dyes, emulsion and anything else you can get our hands on!
I have went back to the good old days and followed some basic folding techniques to help produce prints. Remember it's all about having fun, they don't need to look great, experiment! This is a great way to get colour and prints on to paper quickly and is very satisfying to watch. Additionally, while you're churning out prints its nice to reminisce back to the days we would do this at school.
Keep an eye out these next coming weeks will be filled with fun, resourceful and creative ways to keep you occupied during this boring time!
